As a Human Resources Intern, you will be part of SpartanNash’s 12-week, paid Internship Program. Our Internship Program is designed to expose you to the grocery and distribution industry, immerse you in real-world problem-solving, and foster meaningful experiences with other interns.
The internship is a full-time summer opportunity based in Byron Center, MI, from May 18, 2026, to August 7, 2026. Housing assistance is available to candidates who meet eligibility requirements.
Responsibilities:
While day-to-day responsibilities may vary based on the specific internship, our Human Resources team enables all aspects of an Associate's career journey, ensuring they grow and develop based on aspiration, performance, and potential.
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams to support projects and achieve shared goals.
Participate in a Capstone Project that applies internship learnings to a business challenge, showcasing research, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
Engage in professional development opportunities that may include an executive speaker series, workshops, tours of SpartanNash headquarters, and a day immersed in our Retail environment.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or other related majors
Be an active student through the summer
Graduate December 2026 or later
Be willing to attend mandatory, in-person events
GPA of 3.0 or greater (Preferred)
Relevant work experience such as a prior internship or campus experience (Preferred)
Microsoft Office proficiency (Required)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as problem-solving and analytical capabilities (Required)
Highly collaborative and resilient to overcome obstacles
Driven and demonstrates a bias for action
