Skills
- Proficient in C or C++ for embedded and systems-level development
- Hands-on experience with IEEE 802.11 Wi‑Fi standards and mesh behaviors
- Strong networking knowledge: TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, IPv4 and IPv6
- Experience with embedded networking equipment and Linux-based network stacks
- Familiarity with kernel modules, drivers, and Linux bridge/network internals
- Experience designing and running tests for performance and stability
- Experience with CI/CD, build/deployment pipelines, and monitoring
- Scripting or tooling experience (Golang or Python preferred)
- Ability to collaborate across RF, EE, and software teams and lead cross-team projects
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the Wi‑Fi software and product roadmap for Starlink user terminals
- Debug and optimize kernel-level system and networking performance
- Collaborate with RF and electrical engineering teams to improve hardware/software test procedures
- Mentor and grow a team of software engineers; contribute to a positive engineering culture
- Improve Wi‑Fi mesh networking performance and stability
- Develop tools and automation for CI/CD, test execution, deployment, and data analysis
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or STEM discipline — or equivalent professional experience (see basic qualifications)
- ITAR eligibility (U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for required Department of State authorizations)
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed
