- 5+ years building web applications
- Strong Ruby on Rails backend experience
- React and TypeScript frontend proficiency
- Familiarity with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL)
- Solid understanding of HTTP, authentication, and browser APIs
- Experience with feature flags and progressive rollouts
- Modern CSS experience (Tailwind or similar)
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain app.planetscale.com dashboard and user-facing UIs.
- Design, implement, document, and publish RESTful APIs consumed by the dashboard and external users.
- Develop and maintain CLI tooling (Go) and integrations such as Terraform providers or MCP servers.
- Create internal admin tools and automation to support engineers and support teams.
- Collaborate with design and product to iterate quickly on UX and feature rollouts.
- Debug and resolve cross-system issues involving frontend, backend, and databases.
- Use feature flags and progressive rollouts to deploy changes safely.
Education
- No specific degree required; open to all educational backgrounds
- Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field preferred but not required
