Skills
- Proficiency in scientific programming (MATLAB and/or Python)
- Thermal modeling experience (3D and reduced-order modeling)
- Familiarity with Thermal Desktop and ANSYS Workbench
- Thermal test and validation experience
- Ability to identify thermal sizing cases and assess design impacts
- Strong oral and written communication
- Ability to work to aggressive schedules and support extended hours
- ITAR eligibility and/or willingness to pursue security clearance
Responsibilities
- Perform thermal design and analysis for spacecraft, launch vehicles, and hardware from high-level trade studies to detailed validation
- Develop and execute thermal test plans; validate performance with ground tests, flight, and orbital data
- Automate analysis workflows to reduce engineering cycle time
- Identify sizing cases and evaluate impacts of design decisions quickly
- Drive performance and robustness improvements while seeking operational simplicity
- Produce clear technical documentation and perform peer reviews
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support mission schedules, including extended hours and occasional travel
Education
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Master's degree in an engineering discipline (preferred)
