Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, or science
- 5+ years in manufacturing or fluids/mechanical/electromechanical design and analysis
- Hands-on experience with wastewater or ultrapure water treatment systems
- Ability to read and interpret PFDs, P&IDs, 2D/3D CAD drawings and BOMs
- Experience with mechanical systems troubleshooting, disassembly, and repair
- Familiarity with process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow, power) and instrumentation
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout, job hazard analysis, and hot work permitting
- Experience applying lean manufacturing and moving products from R&D to production
Responsibilities
- Lead construction, activation, commissioning, and day-to-day operations of a commercial ultrapure process water treatment facility
- Design, implement, and productionize mechanical and fluid systems to meet SpaceX and regulatory requirements
- Interpret lab data, process streams, and operator feedback to maintain safe and effective plant operations
- Develop, document, implement, and improve operational procedures and process equipment
- Partner with manufacturing, EHS, facilities, construction, OEMs, and suppliers to resolve issues and align on requirements
- Identify and champion continuous improvement and cost reduction projects
- Create project plans, budgets, and cost/benefit analyses for process or equipment implementations
- Monitor, report, and communicate plant status, risks, and mitigation plans
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, or a science discipline
- ITAR eligibility / U.S. person status required (per posting)
