Sr. Reliability Engineer (Critical Infrastructure)
Skills
- Design and build experience with MEP building systems
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Strong electrical and power distribution knowledge
- HVAC system operation and design knowledge (chillers, boilers, air handling, refrigeration)
- Plumbing systems knowledge (domestic water, wastewater, venting, storm)
- Experience with UPS, backup generators and automatic transfer switches
- Familiarity with NEC, ASHRAE, NFPA and IBC codes and standards
- Project management and contractor coordination
- Field troubleshooting and technician support
- Ability to provide 24/7 on-call support and work extended hours when required
Responsibilities
- Lead internal teams, consultants and contractors through MEP engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and maintenance lifecycles
- Provide technical engineering guidance to ensure construction and maintenance meet codes and specifications
- Coordinate and verify corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance for HVAC, electrical, cranes, fire protection, security, lighting and other facility systems
- Prepare, manage and issue drawings, documentation and project reports for large commercial/industrial projects
- Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time
- Manage capital expenditure process including reviews, approvals, budgets and execution
- Coordinate with AHJ for permits, inspections and project closeout
- Communicate schedules and activities to personnel, subcontractors and suppliers to meet deadlines
- Ensure reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations
- Respond to facility emergencies and own readiness procedures for environmental threats
- Write, negotiate and manage multi-discipline MEP scopes of work
Education
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or related engineering discipline
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience designing or building MEP systems
