Skills
- Power distribution system design and load flow analysis
- Switchgear and motor control center specification
- UPS, generator, and automatic transfer switch knowledge
- Medium-voltage distribution experience
- Ability to read power and control schematics and O&M manuals
- Experience with VFDs, MODBUS communications, and control panel design
- Familiarity with NFPA/NEC code interpretations and arc flash coordination
- Troubleshooting of electrical equipment and controllers
Responsibilities
- Design and specify high-power electrical distribution systems, switchgear, and motor control centers for new construction.
- Design and integrate UPS units, standby/emergency generators, and automatic transfer switches.
- Perform load flow analysis and power monitoring system design and integration.
- Design grounding, lightning protection, and fire alarm interfaces for buildings and sites.
- Provide electrical troubleshooting and engineering support to facility technicians and operations.
- Coordinate electrical installations and maintenance with trade partners and local utilities.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IBC, AFSPCMAN).
- Develop control logic and ensure compatibility of controls, MODBUS communications, and control panels.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline (required)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
