Skills
- Design and analysis of fluid systems (liquid and gas)
- Hands-on HVAC and air ducting experience
- Proficiency in CAD (NX or similar) and GD&T application
- Experience with pumps, compressors, valves, heat exchangers, COPVs and pressure sensors
- Test instrumentation and data acquisition experience (pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs)
- Knowledge of manufacturability and production handoff
- Ability to perform structural/strength evaluations for hardware
Responsibilities
- Serve as subject matter expert for campus fluid/HVAC systems including compressors, pumps, valves, heat exchangers and dust collection
- Perform CAD modeling and component/system design
- Conduct fluid analyses for pressure balance, allowable design, and consumables estimation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (production, avionics, GNC, mission ops) to meet program requirements
- Ensure designs are manufacturable and transition smoothly to production with minimal sustainment
- Support material selection, sizing and procurement activities
- Develop and execute test plans; use data acquisition and instrumentation for validation
Education
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Master's degree in engineering (preferred)
