Skills
- Deep understanding of semiconductor device physics and microelectronics fabrication.
- Hands-on experience with CVD, PVD and other thin-film deposition techniques.
- Proficiency in electrical (IV, CV, Hall, TLM) and optical (ellipsometry, UV-VIS-IR, PL/EL, QSSPC) characterization.
- Experience with microscopy and analytical tools (SEM/EDS, XRD, XPS, SIMS, AFM).
- Process development, metrology implementation, and failure analysis expertise.
- Experience building supply chains and defining incoming material acceptance criteria.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to work extended hours and travel up to 25% as required.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and optimization of CVD recipes and device fabrication processes to improve solar cell efficiency.
- Specify, validate and manage lifecycle of equipment for materials and device processing.
- Perform device modeling, characterization of performance metrics, and failure analysis.
- Establish supply chains and incoming material acceptance criteria for wafers, gases, chemicals, and equipment.
- Address material and process challenges in panel-level packaging and develop next-generation dielectric materials.
- Specify and implement in-process metrology and wafer-level test structures for QC.
- Integrate simulation and experimental data to guide material/process improvements.
- Drive end-to-end R&D programs to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and improve reliability.
- Collaborate with design, reliability, production, and supply chain teams to integrate materials innovations.
- Manage compliance, safety, and environmental risk related to materials and processes.
- Mentor and develop engineering team members; provide technical guidance and project oversight.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field (required).
- Master's degree or PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
