Skills
- Production C++ development experience on Linux
- Strong fundamentals in networking, debugging, and software testing
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) in production
- Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, or similar)
- Ability to design for security and reliability in distributed systems
- Effective written and verbal communication and teamwork
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure command-and-control systems for satellites
- Develop systems for distributing and executing software updates across the network
- Iterate on high-throughput networking components for ground infrastructure
- Build monitoring and observability tools for safe, secure operations
- Create development and testing tooling to accelerate Starshield teams
- Own datacenter software and hardware used to operate the Starshield network
- Deliver end-to-end software lifecycle ownership from design to rollout and support
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline OR
- 2+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree
