Electrical Design Engineer (Avionics)
Skills
- Analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design
- Schematic capture and PCB layout (KiCad, Altium, Eagle)
- Electrical simulation (LTspice, SIMetrix, or similar)
- Design for excellence (DFX), derating, and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with digital comms: SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, RS422
- Knowledge of filters, power supplies, and microcontroller-based circuits
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generator)
Responsibilities
- Design, redesign, and modify PCBAs to improve reliability, manufacturability, and vehicle capabilities
- Provide full ownership of avionics hardware through development, production, and launch
- Drive changes to schematics and mechanical drawings to improve reliability and manufacturability
- Perform root cause investigations and characterize off-nominal unit behavior
- Derive engineering justification to resolve production issues during assembly, test, and integration
- Design test setups and execute benchtop and environmental hardware validation
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (required)
- Relevant academic projects, internships, or professional electronics design experience
