Inviting culture, good balance of having autonomy while feeling supported

Approves of CEO

Pros

- Most of the leadership positions in the sales org are held by women - Sales team is small and scrappy, AEs and SDRs are given a lot of freedom and creativity to run their territory - So many sales orgs create a toxic environment and put reps under a ton of pressure with little to no structure or transparency around goals or leadership decision-making. SchoolMint is the exact opposite. The culture is welcoming and positive, and the team tries very hard to be transparent, supportive, and collaborative. - Within the organization at large, leadership is easy to access (via team meetings, slack, etc.) and reasonable. It feels easy to ask a question and receive an answer from leadership. - Within the sales org, there are opportunities to grow professionally and work collaboratively. The sales team is not silo'd and has easy access to product and marketing teams, as well other sales teams internally (working with other products or territories). - For remote employees there is a lot of flexibility. For all employees there is incredible respect for work/life balance. It's very rare to receive an after-hours slack message or email. - CEO has made it a priority to give 'wellness days' to all employees, so even though it's not 'unlimited time off' it's quite generous and flexible.

Cons

- Maternity leave is woefully insufficient (6 weeks paid) - Due to large number of acquisitions that happened in the last 5 years, the company is only now starting to create established processes and unity across departments. Although that's a good thing, it takes time. Therefore, we still encounter hiccups every now and again (e.g.: cross-departmental miscommunication or difficulty aligning on goals).
