Senior Accountant

Rue Gilt Groupe is a leading off-price e-commerce portfolio connecting shoppers to premium and luxury brands across multiple sites. We’re seeking an inquisitive, self-directed Senior Accountant to own parts of the monthly close, deliver accurate GAAP-compliant reporting, and help streamline processes through automation and cross-functional collaboration.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience (mid-sized company preferred)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, analysis)
  • Experience with general ledger/accounting systems; PeopleSoft and Planful a plus
  • Proven ability to prepare journal entries and detailed reconciliations
  • Experience with fixed assets, capitalized software accounting, accruals, and intercompany
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in deadline-driven environment
  • Collaborative communication skills for cross-functional interaction
  • Interest/experience in process automation and system improvements

Responsibilities

  • Own month-end close activities for Fixed Assets, Capitalized Software, Accruals, Prepaids, Intercompany, and key balance sheet and P&L accounts
  • Prepare journal entries, detailed account reconciliations, and supporting analyses in accordance with GAAP
  • Perform variance analysis of actuals vs. budget/forecast by department and investigate unusual variances
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of month-end close
  • Work cross-functionally with business leaders to gather financial data and ensure timely reporting
  • Support special projects focused on automation, efficiency gains, and financial systems implementations

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • CPA and/or MSA considered a plus
  • Ongoing professional education or relevant certifications encouraged
