Senior Accountant
Skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience (mid-sized company preferred)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, analysis)
- Experience with general ledger/accounting systems; PeopleSoft and Planful a plus
- Proven ability to prepare journal entries and detailed reconciliations
- Experience with fixed assets, capitalized software accounting, accruals, and intercompany
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in deadline-driven environment
- Collaborative communication skills for cross-functional interaction
- Interest/experience in process automation and system improvements
Responsibilities
- Own month-end close activities for Fixed Assets, Capitalized Software, Accruals, Prepaids, Intercompany, and key balance sheet and P&L accounts
- Prepare journal entries, detailed account reconciliations, and supporting analyses in accordance with GAAP
- Perform variance analysis of actuals vs. budget/forecast by department and investigate unusual variances
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of month-end close
- Work cross-functionally with business leaders to gather financial data and ensure timely reporting
- Support special projects focused on automation, efficiency gains, and financial systems implementations
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- CPA and/or MSA considered a plus
- Ongoing professional education or relevant certifications encouraged
