Skills
- Enrollment in an engineering, physics or math degree program with at least one semester remaining
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- 3+ months applied engineering experience (internship, lab, or project work)
- Strong teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work full-time on-site for a minimum 12 consecutive weeks
- Eligibility to work on US government-regulated space technology (ITAR requirements)
Responsibilities
- Work with a mentor to design, model and test spacecraft separation mechanisms and components
- Perform hands-on lab testing, build/fabricate test articles, and collect test data
- Create and maintain technical documentation, test plans and reports
- Use CAD and analysis tools to support design iterations and early validation
- Participate in design reviews, team meetings and present progress updates
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate subsystem requirements
- Follow safety, quality and configuration control processes for hardware work
Education
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate program in engineering, physics or mathematics
- At least one semester of academic enrollment remaining after the internship
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
