Decoding The Role:
Editas Medicine is seeking a highly motivated and creative bioanalytical Associate or Sr. Associate Scientist to join our Bioanalytical and Biomarker Sciences team. In this role, you would report into our Molecular Bioanalytics team and be responsible for supporting ADME, biodistribution, PK/PD and bioanalytical activities. You will be responsible for executing stage-appropriate molecular bioanalytical assays in support of DMPK, tox, biodistribution and PK/PD studies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical bioanalytical skills in PCR-based methods (ddPCR, TaqMan PCR or other quantitative techniques) to generate quantitative data to support in vitro and in vivo studies. To be successful in this role, you should be an independent thinker, highly motivated and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment generating data at high throughput. A broad understanding of drug discovery and development, and ability to work collaboratively within the team and cross-functionally is desired. Independence in data analysis, interpretation and communication are key attributes for a successful individual in this role.
Characterizing Your Impact:
As the Associate or Sr. Associate Scientist, you will be responsible for:
· Independent execution of routine workflows for bioanalytical method development and sample analysis using techniques such as molecular bioanalytical assays (qPCR, ddPCR) in support of non-clinical quantitative bioanalysis.
· Independently execute and contribute to the development of PCR-based methods, sample analysis, data generation and report writing.
· Develop nucleic acid extraction (DNA/RNA) and quantification from broad-spectrum animal tissues (including NHP samples) and cell types.
· Execute bioanalytical assay development strategies to characterize ADME, PK/TK and biodistribution properties of the drug product and address key scientific questions.
· Extract genomic DNA from in vivo and in vitro gene editing studies and submit for sequencing analysis.
· Ensure that the data obtained is of the highest quality, and generated timely.
· Write bioanalytical assay protocols, ROPs/SOPs.
· Model behaviors of a strong technical contributor and team player.
· Work cross-functionally within the organization.
· Ensure compliance with electronic notebooks (ELN), high data integrity and company policies.
The Ideal Transcript:
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
· Bachelor’s/Master’s degrees with >2 years relevant industry.
· Experience in conducting quantitative bioanalysis using molecular bioanalytical techniques such as qPCR, ddPCR to support discovery and development projects.
· Independently design, execute and analyze experimental results and effectively communicate them.
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience in establishing molecular bioanalytical methods, for a variety of therapeutic modalities, ideally in preclinical development.
· Excellent communication skills and proven ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, along with exceptional scientific thinking and problem-solving skills.
· Experience with gene editing or gene delivery technologies and lipid nanoparticle delivery is highly desired.
· Experience with mammalian cell cultures (primary or immortalized) is highly preferred.
· Experience with protein analysis and LBA assays is a plus.
