Staff Software Engineer, Reporting Data Curation
Skills
- Design and evolution of data-intensive applications and reporting/analytics systems
- Proficiency with Python or Kotlin (experience with both is a plus)
- Experience with modern cloud platforms, preferably AWS
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, data pipelines, and performance optimization
- Experience building scalable, event-driven services
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as React is a bonus
- Mentoring, technical leadership, and cross-team influence
- Excellent communication and collaborative problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical lead for major initiatives including Reporting Engine rearchitecture, performance scaling, and AI reporting integration
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to define and deliver customer-facing reporting features
- Drive architectural decisions to ensure reliability, performance, and extensibility of reporting systems
- Establish engineering best practices in data modeling, distributed systems, and query optimization
- Lead design reviews, guide implementations, and mentor staff- and senior-level engineers
- Investigate deep technical problems while maintaining strategic, long-term perspectives
- Represent the Reporting team in cross-functional planning and engineering leadership forums
- Communicate clearly, own problems end-to-end, and contribute to a collaborative learning culture
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Advanced degree preferred but not required
