Backend Java Engineer - FinTech (Remote - US)

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of a cutting-edge equity crowdfunding platform, building scalable and secure backend systems that empower entrepreneurs and investors alike. As a Backend Java Engineer, you will be part of a collaborative engineering team working in a modern cloud environment with AWS, microservices, and containerization. You will design and maintain backend services, APIs, and databases that support high availability, security, and performance. Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java/Spring Boot.
• Build and scale microservices with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Architect and optimize relational database solutions with AWS RDS (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and security across cloud-based systems.
• Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployments and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, and other engineers to deliver new features.
• Conduct code reviews and champion best practices across the engineering team.

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience, preferably in Java.
• Must reside and work in the United States.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS, EKS, S3, RDS, etc.).
• Proven ability to build and scale RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and containerization.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling (PostgreSQL/MySQL preferred).
• Familiarity with multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience in FinTech, payments, or compliance-focused environments.
• Bonus: Knowledge of event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), GraphQL, or gRPC.
