Job Family Definition:
Students of college, university, or other accredited academic programs, pursuing Bachelor’s degree. Assists in various tasks aligned with their field of study, including research, collaboration on team initiatives and projects, problem-solving, and creative thinking to gain hands-on experience and develop professional skills. Includes internships, research roles, visiting scholar positions, or other program-related opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Categories of work: Application features backlog, system monitoring enhancements, database technical debt, new application development tasks, and frontend retrofitting work.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to ongoing activities as part of projects assigned.
Identify and suggest implementation of specific changes to processes and tools to improve performance, efficiency, and customer/client satisfaction.
Fulfill tasks and responsibilities assigned by a supervisor in a timely and efficient manner.
The types of work available for interns can be grouped together into two main buckets; frontend and backend:
- Frontend interns would be instructed on how to work with: Angular, Typescript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Images, Server Hosting, Branding, API Clients and Source Control.
- Backend interns would be instructed on how to work with: C#.NET, IIS, Python, (P|T)SQL, Node, NuGet, RESTful Web APIs, WCF SOAP APIs, Concurrency, Parallel Processing, Schedulers, Server Setup, Encryption, Security and Source Control.
Education & Experience:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Information Science, Engineering with/software, or a related field.
Knowledge & Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Time management skills and working within defined timelines.
A collaborative, solution-focused mindset and overall sense of urgency.
Ability to work independently with guidance.
