Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Ledger)
Skills
- Expertise in backend languages such as Python or Kotlin
- Experience building highly available distributed systems on AWS
- Strong SQL and relational DB (MySQL) design and performance tuning
- Experience with Spark and large-scale data processing frameworks
- Kubernetes experience for orchestration and production deployments
- Deep familiarity with financial/accounting systems, transactions and reconciliation
- Proven experience designing and optimizing ETL and data pipelines
- Operational excellence: monitoring, alerting, on-call, playbooks and SLAs
- Strong verbal and written communication for cross-functional collaboration
Responsibilities
- Set year-long technical strategy and translate it into executable, business-impacting projects for the team
- Collaborate with product management, design, analytics and cross-functional partners to balance sustainability, risk and trade-offs
- Define and advocate technical solutions, coding and design standards; act as a force-multiplier for the team
- Own operational reliability: monitoring, triage rotations, runbooks, testing, and alerting to support on-call efforts
- Design, implement and optimize high-volume ETL and daily processing pipelines with strict SLAs and data integrity guarantees
- Mentor and grow engineers through feedback, code reviews, design guidance and technical leadership
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Equivalent practical experience accepted in lieu of formal degree
