Staff Technical Program Manager, Vehicle Design

Relativity Space is building next‑generation rockets and factory systems to enable rapid, scalable launch. The Propulsion and Vehicle Engineering teams need a Staff Technical Program Manager to define program management methodology, drive schedule and risk discipline across vehicle design, and act as a senior cross‑functional partner to ensure efficient, predictable design execution and smooth handoffs across upstream and downstream teams.

Skills

  • Advanced program and schedule management (IMS)
  • Cross-functional leadership across hardware, software, and operations
  • Risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
  • Ability to synthesize technical detail and present to executives
  • Systems-level thinking to map dependencies and interfaces
  • Experience driving process adoption and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Own schedule adherence, risk management, and reporting cadence for all vehicle engineering design efforts
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program and design execution risks; drive proactive resolutions
  • Present program updates, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership
  • Establish and maintain program execution culture and standardized PM methodology across Vehicle Engineering
  • Integrate design schedules into a program-level Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and identify critical path
  • Define goals, metrics, and scoreboards to monitor operational performance and increase predictability
  • Facilitate transparent communication and strong handoffs between departments and stakeholders
  • Continuously improve tools, templates, and best practices for program management in vehicle design

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or related field (required)
  • Aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering preferred
  • Graduate degree (MBA or MS) or relevant certifications are a plus
