Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for commercial construction and potentially chemical/manufacturing projects
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and supporting documentation to define scope and material requirements
- Apply appropriate labor and material rates and build comprehensive cost breakdowns
- Maintain and update a centralized cost database and historical cost records
- Collaborate with engineering, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure alignment of design and cost data
- Negotiate and manage subcontractor change orders and resolve cost-related issues
- Research and evaluate new construction materials, methods, and technologies for cost and performance impacts
- Foster a collaborative, team-oriented working environment
Education
- Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering or Construction Management)
- Relevant equivalent years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
- Master's degree is a plus but not required
