Skills
- Experience with medium- and low-voltage distribution systems and substations (up to 35 kV)
- Familiarity with power monitoring systems and protection relays
- Experience with VFDs, motor controls, and industrial lighting systems
- Commissioning and startup experience for electrical systems
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Project management and contractor oversight experience
- Ability to collect, analyze, and report electrical KPIs and system demand
- Effective cross-functional communication and stakeholder management
- Hands-on, safety-focused approach to facilities work
Responsibilities
- Support daily operations and maintain facility electrical systems to optimize reliability, efficiency, capacity, and quality
- Perform detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysis on electrical systems; implement corrective and preventive actions
- Support commissioning of new equipment and systems; develop and review procedures and oversee execution
- Develop procedures for operation and maintenance of substation-level infrastructure up to 35 kV
- Track and report system demand, capacity, and operational KPIs; identify and lead improvement projects
- Manage small-to-medium projects and oversee contractors and third-party work
- Create and implement facilities processes and standard operating procedures
- Work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to support continuous improvement goals
Education
- BS in Electrical Engineering preferred
- Relevant technical certifications or continuing education in electrical systems or facilities maintenance are a plus
