Sr Software Engineer - Mobile

Overview

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing workload automations, job scheduling, and/or applications to meet the user needs and business requirements.  As well as work with internal and external resources to develop system solutions. The Senior Systems Engineer will provide production support to Red Lobster IT and Business Teams to support automation initiatives as well as issue resolution on existing automations and job scheduling.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Design and develop automation programs and/or applications as needed to meet user needs and business requirements.
• Provide production support to Red Lobster IT and Business teams to support automation and job scheduling activities. Troubleshoot problems to determine root cause and correct as required.
• Recommends decisions on more complex issues to Manager. Prioritizes resources allocation of multiple, more complex projects assigned.
• Analyze information requests and discuss with user to assemble all elements required to produce the requested information.
• Code, test and implement programs or applications using appropriate programming language, such as JAMS, Unix Shell or PowerShell utilizing appropriate database engines such as SQL Server.
• Maintain current documentation on all programs, systems, and procedures.
• Maintain and modify existing programs and applications as required.
• Provide guidance and expertise to developers with less experience in JAMS.
• Reviews user requirements and needs for new software and performs analysis, design, implementation, installation and training related to new software developed and/or acquired.
• Provide technical assistance and advice to end user programming community
• Analyze and define business requirements, participate in selection, and implement new functionality, applications and modules within JAMS and other automation tools. Adhere to Red Lobster SDLC and technology architecture requirements
• Proactively identify and communicate potential problems and issues to project team members/leaders
• Proactively identify alternatives and recommend/implement solutions as appropriate
• Ensure accurate project status and work estimates (ETCs) are always reported /communicated to project leaders/managers in a timely fashion
• Consistently enhance skills and job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products and trends; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Minimum 8 years of experience implementing, configuring and supporting workload automations.
• Proficient with Power Shell
• UNIX Shell Scripting
• Oracle and SQL Databases
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• API Integrations using platforms like MuleSoft
• Network and server architecture and domain
• Demonstrated competency in designing, programming, and testing complex applications or components
• Demonstrated competency in accurately identifying the scope of work and preparing thorough, detailed schedules that   accurately estimates all milestones

• Experience with the following development skills and technology:

• • .NET / C# - Current and previous versions
  • Microsoft Azure – Azure Cloud Implementation, Monitoring, Security and Maintenance
  • Microsoft Azure DevOps – Automation tools for developing digital pipelines (CI/CD pipelines)
  • Web Services - Web API – REST
  • Web Service Security – Certificate Authentication and OAuth2
  • JSON and/or XML

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Solid communication and proven success working closely with functional end users to gather requirements and finalize solutions
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tasks at a given time
• Knowledge of restaurant or other retail businesses
• Knowledge of RPA tools such as UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate
• Knowledge of software platforms like Oracle Financials, PeopleSoft, BI, Custom Web Applications
