About Ramp

At Ramp, we’re rethinking how modern finance teams function in the age of AI. We believe AI isn’t just the next big wave. It’s the new foundation for how business gets done. We’re investing in that future — and in the people bold enough to build it.

Ramp is a financial operations platform designed to save companies time and money. Our all-in-one solution combines payments, corporate cards, vendor management, procurement, travel booking, and automated bookkeeping with built-in intelligence to maximize the impact of every dollar and hour spent. But we’re not just building features powered by AI. We’re building a platform where agents can chase receipts, close books, flag risks, and surface insights. This enables teams to reclaim their time and reinvest in what matters.

More than 40,000 businesses, from family-owned farms to space startups, have saved $10B and 27.5M hours with Ramp. Founded in 2019, Ramp powers the fastest-growing corporate card and bill payment platform in America, and enables over $80 billion in purchases each year.

Ramp’s investors include Thrive Capital, Sands Capital, General Catalyst, Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Greylock, and Redpoint, among others, in addition to 100+ angel investors who have been founders or executives of leading companies.

Ramp has been named to Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list and LinkedIn’s Top U.S. Startups for more than 3 years, as well as the Forbes Cloud 100, CNBC Disruptor 50, and TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Companies.

About the Role

Ramp is, at its core, a fintech company. Our financial infrastructure enables us to issue cards, move money globally, and manage treasury flows for our customers. Stablecoins are emerging as a critical lever to make these flows faster, cheaper, and more accessible.

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our engineering team with a dedicated focus on stablecoin-based payment and treasury systems. In this role, you will act as both a technical owner and multiplier: architecting core stablecoin services, ensuring secure and reliable integrations with external partners, and guiding Ramp’s evolution toward next-generation fintech solutions.

Our ideal candidate combines deep distributed systems expertise with strong financial infrastructure experience, thrives in highly regulated and mission-critical environments, and has a passion for mentoring others while scaling high-performing engineering teams.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and scale Ramp’s stablecoin-based payment and treasury infrastructure

  • Own the technical architecture for stablecoin money movement, from wallet infrastructure to fiat payment integrations, ensuring compliance, reliability, and security

  • Partner with external providers and internal stakeholders to deliver end-to-end product flows

  • Solve Ramp’s toughest fintech challenges with new technologies

  • Collaborate with engineers across Ramp to integrate stablecoin capabilities into core products

  • Contribute to a culture of technical excellence: code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentoring engineers across the organization

What You Need

  • Minimum 6 years of experience shipping high-quality architectures for critical systems preferred

  • Proven experience with stablecoin technologies, blockchain-based payment rails, and/or wallet infrastructure

  • Strong production experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or equivalent)

  • Deep proficiency in at least one object-oriented or functional programming language (Python, Go, Java, or similar)

  • A strong understanding of compliance, security, and operational requirements for financial services

  • Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into reliable, high-impact technical solutions

  • Passion for mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience integrating with external financial service providers and APIs at scale

  • Familiarity with cross-border settlement, FX, or treasury management systems

  • Background in highly regulated fintech environments (e.g., payments, banking, or government-compliant infrastructure)

Benefits (for U.S.-based full-time employees)

  • 100% medical, dental & vision insurance coverage for you

    • Partially covered for your dependents

    • One Medical annual membership

  • 401k (including employer match on contributions made while employed by Ramp)

  • Flexible PTO

  • Fertility HRA (up to $5,000 per year)

  • WFH stipend to support your home office needs

  • Wellness stipend

  • Parental Leave

  • Relocation support to NYC or SF (as needed)

  • Pet insurance
