Skills
- Strong knowledge of addiction and mental health treatment.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA, licensing standards, CARF regulations, and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal healthcare regulations and appeal processes.
- Proficient with data entry, Excel, Microsoft Office, and basic office equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of DSM-5 and care management systems.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Behavioral Health Technicians and provide performance feedback.
- Orient, train, and hire new Behavioral Health Technician staff.
- Communicate effectively with staff and assist with employee disciplinary actions.
- Develop employee schedules and conduct performance evaluations.
- Coordinate client activities and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
- Evaluate clients' behavioral and emotional needs and provide support.
- Oversee Intake Coordinators and coordinate admissions, discharges, and bed management with central admissions.
- Ensure completion of intake paperwork, contact referral and payer sources, and manage pre-certifications.
- Cross-train to support Utilization Review and complete daily census.
- Attend facility meetings and manage BHT department coordination.
- Perform clerical duties and complete mandatory training.
Education
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in behavioral health or related field preferred.
