- Strong Linux administration
- Python scripting (or similar scripting skills)
- Networking and storage infrastructure knowledge
- Experience with Jira and ServiceNow ticket workflows
- Familiarity with VMware/ESXi
- Experience with automation tools (Jenkins, Docker) is desirable
- Comfort troubleshooting server hardware (Cisco, Brocade, Supermicro)
- Proven communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to create monitors and interpret storage I/O/usage metrics
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving aptitude
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on Linux administration and Python scripting to support storage validation and automation.
- Manage Jira and ServiceNow queues to troubleshoot hardware failures, apply repair steps, and validate hardware for return to production.
- Work directly with datacenter operations to diagnose and resolve storage and server hardware issues.
- Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and repair server and storage fleets to maximize uptime and performance.
- Create and maintain monitoring for data stores and proactively respond to storage utilization and I/O alerts.
- Participate in business-hour on-call rotations for storage-related alerts and escalations.
- Review code for automation bugs, implement fixes when feasible, and create tickets for engineering teams.
- Maintain and contribute technical documentation, runbooks, and internal wiki resources.
- Provide mentoring and training to datacenter operations staff as needed.
Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Hardware Engineering, or related field OR
- At least five years of relevant industry experience
