Skills
- Expertise in NFL and/or NCAAFB data and football sports betting.
- Strong knowledge of sports betting industry and terminology.
- Experience in predictive modeling, simulation modeling, and latency reduction techniques.
- Proficiency with data science tools such as SQL, Pandas, Numpy, SKLearn.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS and GCP.
- Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools (Airflow, Argo Workflows, etc.).
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentorship skills.
Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize impactful data science projects with clear goals and objectives.
- Manage and mentor a team of data scientists, supporting their career growth.
- Make decisions on project prioritization, workflows, tooling, modeling techniques, and deliverables.
- Serve as the football subject matter expert ensuring data-driven solutions align with sport-specific best practices.
- Apply sports betting and football data expertise to solve pricing and forecasting challenges.
- Develop and maintain machine learning and statistical models for event outcome prediction.
- Analyze and communicate predictive and prescriptive analytics on feature performance and forecasts.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders for projects in development and production.
- Monitor and ensure stability and accuracy of data science projects in production.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with executives to leverage data for insights and business value.
- Develop best practices for internal data science processes including model building and latency improvements.
- Design and implement predictive models and optimization routines with enterprise level impact.
- Maintain technical documentation in git and confluence.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline.
