Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Construction Manager to support the successful delivery of construction projects. This role assists the Construction Manager in coordinating field activities, reviewing project CPM Schedules and Milestones, Contractor Production, Change events, RFI’s, Submittals, Site Specific Safety Work Plans, Payment items, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Ideal candidates will have strong technical and communication skills and a proactive attitude toward solving problems on-site. The jobsite is located at 1401 T Street NE, Washington DC.
Key skills:
Technical Knowledge: Understanding engineering concepts, construction processes, and technical specifications. Project Documentation: Ability to manage and maintain project documents, including contracts, change orders, and design plans. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication to interact with contractors, engineers, and project managers. Organization: Proficiency in organizing and maintaining accurate records, reports, and schedules. Project Management: Knowledge of project timelines, budgeting, and coordination of materials and resources. Software Proficiency: Familiarity with industry-specific software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and project management tools like Microsoft Project or Primavera. Problem-solving: Analytical skills to troubleshoot project issues, coordinate changes, and resolve conflicts on site. Attention to Detail: Precision in reviewing plans, designs, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and regulations. Team Collaboration: Ability to work within a team and coordinate with various departments, such as procurement, design, and field operations. Cost Control: Understanding of cost management principles, including budgeting, estimating, and forecasting project expenses.
