About Neon Many large companies make billions each year by monetizing Americans’ personal data. At Neon, we’re finally cutting consumers in on the deal. Neon allows our users to make hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars per year by securely selling their anonymized data. We recently raised a $25M seed from Lightspeed, Upper90, Upfront Ventures, and other cool investors.
About the role: You aren't here to micromanage a backlog or act as a project admin. Instead, you are here to work hand in hand with our CEO on ensuring that our mobile platform continues to delight our 500,000+ users. This is a builder’s role — you build with vision, metrics, and fast iteration (not by writing production code, though you should be somewhat technical).
You will partner closely with our data science team to translate complex monetization models into seamless mobile features, while ensuring the app remains attractive to users. You will set the quality bar, define the roadmap, and ensure that every feature we ship unlocks real value for both the user and the company.
You have…
Authorization to work in the US.
Deep Mobile Ecosystem Knowledge. You have significant experience with mobile apps on both and understand the relationship between device, operating system, and app performance, as well as the nuances of the App Store and Google Play ecosystems. You know how to navigate platform guidelines, release cycles, and UI patterns to scale a product without friction.
Mobile Product Leadership. You have 5+ years of mobile product experience with a track record of owning a mobile P&L or major product vertical.
Respect for the User. You understand how to build something that users actually want, not what you think they should want. You've done customer discovery and know how to collect insights from users and turn them into product features.
Data Fluency. You can effectively collaborate with data teams to instrument event schemas and define the metrics that matter. You understand how to turn data insights into consumer-facing features that drive adoption and retention.
Technical Empathy. You aren't writing code, but you speak the language. You can comfortably discuss API contracts, architectural decisions, and technical debt with engineering leadership to ensure we are building for the long term.
Pragmatic Speed. You actively avoid analysis paralysis. You focus on delivering effective business solutions to immediate problems, prioritizing a high-impact v1 today over a theoretical v2 next month. You don't always have all the answers, but you know how to find them.
Bonus points
Mobile engineering experience. Ideally, you have some experience as a mobile engineer yourself.
Startup grit. You’ve worked in early-stage environments before. You know that things change fast, and thrive in the chaos.
Marketplace Experience. You’ve worked in a two-sided marketplace, rewards platform, or gig-economy app where balancing supply, demand, and user incentives is key.
