Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and finger sticks; verify patient identity and test requisitions.
- Act as on-site operations manager for the designated PSC and oversee phlebotomy program.
- Maintain specimen integrity and quality-control records; report KPIs and quality issues to product management.
- Track collections, maintain daily tallies, and record results in provided systems.
- Onboard, train and retrain phlebotomists; manage scheduling and staffing as volume requires.
- Manage PSC vendors, supplies, inventory and occasional reimbursable travel for restocking.
- Resolve unusual or discrepant test orders by coordinating with clinicians, labs, and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, safety procedures and JCAHO standards.
- Report SPI/CAPA/NCR issues and escalate small customer escalations as needed.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- BS/BA degree preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred or state-mandated license where applicable
