Assoc Dir, Phlebotomy Operations & Training

Natera, a global leader in cell-free DNA testing focused on oncology, women’s health, and organ health, is seeking an Associate Director of Phlebotomy Operations & Training to lead the national phlebotomy network. This role will develop scalable training programs, oversee onboarding and competency across Mobile Phlebotomists, Test Coordinators, IOPs and PSCs, and act as the primary operational liaison between field teams and corporate leadership to drive consistent, high-quality patient experiences.

Skills

  • Clinical team leadership and field-based staff management
  • Phlebotomy training program design and delivery
  • Quality assurance and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, clinical SOPs)
  • KPI monitoring, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
  • Experience with LIMS, scheduling tools, and electronic requisition systems
  • Strong interpersonal communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs and assist with site setup
  • Willingness to travel 25–40% nationally

Responsibilities

  • Lead onboarding, certification, and role-based training for phlebotomy agents, test coordinators, IOPs, and PSC staff
  • Design, implement, and refine standardized training, competency assessments, and retraining protocols
  • Provide day-to-day field operations support, coaching, and real-time troubleshooting for assigned locations
  • Monitor and manage KPIs (draw volumes, TNP rates, turnaround times) and drive corrective action and performance improvement
  • Conduct routine audits, site visits, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to SOPs and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate with HR, Sales, Logistics, and Field Operations to ensure staffing, tools, and supplies for phlebotomy teams
  • Manage logistics for equipment, supplies, and setup of new or relocated phlebotomy sites
  • Travel (approximately 25–40%) to conduct in-person training, performance evaluations, and operational audits

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, or related field strongly preferred
