Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Negotiation skills for settlements and provider balances
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet multiple deadlines
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and case management databases
- Typing speed of at least 35 WPM
Responsibilities
- Interact daily with clients by phone and in person and provide proactive case updates
- Order and obtain medical records and communicate with healthcare providers and clients during treatment
- Collect documents to support injury and liability positions and maintain organized case files
- Communicate and negotiate with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records, balances, and settlements
- Prepare comprehensive demand packages and supporting documentation for submission to carriers
- Negotiate reductions of outstanding medical balances with providers
- Work collaboratively with attorneys and present case synopses when requested
- Manage case files from intake to closing under attorney supervision
- Perform other related duties as assigned to meet business needs
Education
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required (implied)
