Job Title: Customer Service Representative

Location: Onsite - 16825 S. Seton Avenue Emmitsburg, MD 21727
Employer: MKS2 Technologies
Contract: FEMA – National Disaster & Emergency Management University (NDEMU)

Salary: $55000-$65,000 (experience level)

🌟 Position Overview

MKS2 Technologies is seeking dedicated and professional Customer Service Representatives to support FEMA’s National Disaster & Emergency Management University (NDEMU). This role involves assisting millions of learners annually through FEMA’s Independent Study (IS) Program, which delivers emergency management training via web-based and downloadable formats. You’ll be the first point of contact for users navigating FEMA’s expanding curriculum and technical platforms.

 

✅ Key Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous and professional customer support via phone, email, and internet
  • Assist users with technical issues, course access, and general inquiries related to FEMA’s IS Program
  • Document and track customer interactions using internal systems
  • Collaborate with FEMA and MKS2 teams to ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Maintain familiarity with FEMA’s ISDBS software and training platforms
  • Uphold federal records management standards and privacy protocols

 

🎓 Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of customer service experience
  • Proficient in English (read, write, speak, understand)
  • Computer-literate with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

 

💼 Desired Qualifications

  • Prior FEMA experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server 2000
  • Experience with FEMA’s NDEMU Independent Study Database System (ISDBS)
  • Knowledge of federal records management laws and regulations

 

🔐 Clearance Requirements

This position requires a Public Trust clearance at the Moderate Risk level.

  • Candidates must undergo a favorable FBI fingerprint check, credit check, and review of the SF 85P form
  • Work may begin after initial clearance is granted
  • Full background investigation required for contracts exceeding 180 days
