We’re looking for a Senior Technical Product Owner who thrives at the intersection of technology and people. In this role, you’ll lead backend software initiatives that drive real business impact—partnering with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to shape solutions that matter. You’ll be a key connector, translating ideas into action and fostering a culture of collaboration, clarity, and continuous improvement.

This position is considered flexible remote. Travel to the office required once per quarter or more as needed. Residence required within our 6-state footprint (MI, WI, IL, IN, OH or KY) for remote position.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Building Bridges Across Teams

• Partner with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to co-create a technical roadmap that aligns with strategic goals.
• Act as a translator between technical and non-technical teams—ensuring everyone is heard, understood, and aligned.

 Shaping the Product Vision

• Maintain a clear and prioritized product backlog that reflects both business needs and technical opportunities.
• Regularly refine backlog items to ensure clarity and relevance, adjusting based on team input and evolving priorities.

Crafting Meaningful Stories

• Write user stories and acceptance criteria that are easy to understand and inspire action.
• Document workflows and requirements in a way that supports shared understanding and smooth execution.

Leading with Purpose

• Lead the execution of product features with a focus on quality, transparency, and team empowerment.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies and foster a development process that’s efficient, inclusive, and outcome-driven.

Solving Problems Together

• Proactively identify and resolve blockers, working with the team to find creative and sustainable solutions.
• Continuously assess system performance and suggest enhancements that improve usability, scalability, and efficiency.

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU

Experience & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years as a Technical Product Owner, Engineer, or Architect.
• SAFe certification (SSM, SASM, SA, SPC, SPMPO) preferred.

Technical & Domain Expertise

• Experience with backend e-commerce systems and modern architecture styles (e.g., microservices, event-driven).
• Familiarity with Java (Spring Boot), GraphQL, Kafka, RESTful APIs, and relational/NoSQL databases.

Communication & Leadership

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster collaboration.
• Experience in Agile environments and project management techniques.

We are committed to offering competitive pay that reflects market standards and ensures consistency within our organization.

The pay range for this position is listed below.

$100,000.00 - $156,000.00

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum base pay for the position, which is determined by factors such as market data, the qualifications required, the level of responsibilities associated with the role and other roles at this same level. Your specific pay rate within this range will be based on your experience, qualifications, and skills compared to the internal team you’ll be joining.
