Lead Onboarding Project Manager

Marqeta is a public fintech company powering modern card issuing and payments products for leading global brands. The Lead Onboarding Project Manager will drive implementation efforts for key accounts, coordinating cross-functional teams and customers to deliver new programs, expansions, and change requests with high quality and on-time execution.

Skills

  • Advanced project management and delivery skills for complex, multi-stakeholder programs
  • Strong stakeholder and customer-facing communication
  • Risk identification, escalation, and mitigation
  • Timeline and resource planning with milestone tracking
  • Familiarity with PM tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Salesforce) and collaboration platforms
  • Experience working in regulated/technical payment environments (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary project lead for customer onboarding, program expansions, and change requests
  • Design tailored implementation approaches aligned to customer needs and success criteria
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (Revenue, Strategy & Ops, Customer Solutions & Delivery, Partnerships) to ensure program delivery
  • Manage timelines, resources, milestones, risks, and issue resolution using PM best practices and tools
  • Communicate effectively with customers, payment networks, banks, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships and understand customer business objectives
  • Ensure compliance and high-quality delivery in regulated and technical environments
  • Handoff and operationalize programs post-implementation with internal teams

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (typical requirement) or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree considered (can substitute for experience)
  • PMI certification or equivalent preferred/recognized
