Job Description

The Kids Operations Director will create and maintain systems and processes that impact weekly ministry as well as special events and experiences, and will support a dynamic Kids Ministry for kids and families at all Mariners Church locations. The Kids Operations Director serves under the Kids Pastor on the Kids Team. A full time position, the schedule generally includes weekend services and time spent in the office during the week for a total of 40 hours. This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). 

Responsibilities

  • Own Intentional Processes: First time guest experience, family follow-up, and retention strategies.
  • Recruit, lead, and develop the strategy and volunteers (coaches) for Kid’s Guest Services, First Impressions, Hospitality, and volunteer onboarding. 
  • Manage the Kids volunteer mobilization  process including orientation, pipeline, ensuring the constant flow and follow-up of new volunteers.
  • Oversee communication, website and marketing schedules to volunteer and family audiences through email, website, and social media.
  • Oversee and maintain weekly/monthly metrics of attendance, volunteers, and other critical data through a dynamic ministry dashboard.
  • Support Kids events through project management efforts, facilities requests, and helping ensure timely and efficient execution of all events.
  • Collaborate with the Kids team as well as Operations Team on the planning and execution of ministry wide events (i.e VBS, Child Dedications, Monthly Outreach events, etc.)
  • Uphold values around safety and security, ensuring thorough training of all volunteers and leaders.
  • Work closely with the Kids Pastor to lead ministry in alignment with the overall church strategy and values.
  • Represent Kids in church-wide opportunities as requested.

Qualifications

  • Authentic relationship with Jesus Christ. 
  • 3+ experience in the Local Church Ministry or Education is preferred.
  • Highly organized and strong eye for detail.
  • Strong oral and written skills.
  • Highly relational, flexible and able to work well with others.
  • Proactive and willing to seek out solutions.
  • Advanced computer skills and experience with multiple application programs including Google, Apple, Rock systems preferred
  • Demonstrated customer services skills, prioritization, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
  • Ability to manage and balance complex schedules and details.
  • Available to attend and/or assist with set-up, registration, or other needs for specific Kids Ministry events.
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters is required.
  • Ability to manage, direct, and oversee teams of volunteers.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
