Skills
- Deep understanding of silicon photonics components and circuits
- Hands-on experience characterizing photonic devices at wafer and package levels
- Experience with high-speed photonic device test equipment (AWG, DCA, DSO, PNA, LCA)
- Test system automation experience using Python
- Experience supporting new product introduction and high-volume production
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to mixed audiences
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architecture and design teams to define characterization and test approaches for model validation
- Architect test concepts, platforms, and design-for-test rules during early technology phases
- Create detailed test plans and drive timely execution of characterization and production tests
- Define, develop, and deploy wafer- and package-level test setups for silicon photonics products
- Develop test software for automation, data analysis, and parameter extraction
- Specify and procure test equipment in partnership with vendors
- Setup and operate optical and high-speed equipment (tunable lasers, power meters, polarization synthesizers, OBR/OVA, optical switches, AWG, DCA, DSO, PNA, LCA)
- Partner with silicon, platform validation, reliability, and OSAT teams to ensure manufacturable test flows and post-stress validation
- Keep current with advances in silicon photonics testability and incorporate best practices
Education
- Master’s degree in Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related field (required)
- PhD in Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred)
