Responsibilities
- Lead architecture decisions, system trades, and design for precision scanning, pointing, and line-of-sight stabilization
- Derive and verify sensor line-of-sight performance requirements across multidisciplinary constraints
- Create and manage pointing control and pointing knowledge error budgets with allocations, model predictions, and test results
- Serve as lead design engineer for control systems, including embedded software and hardware for control precision mechanisms
- Develop detailed system models to predict pointing, stabilization, and jitter performance
- Analyze performance and validate models with sub-assembly and full-system prototypes
- Develop and review test setups, procedures, and data to transition systems from R&D to production
- Collaborate with senior staff and leadership as the Control Engineering subject matter expert
Education
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls Engineering, or related field (required)
- MS or PhD in a related field (preferred)
