Sr. Electrical Engineer (Critical Infrastructure)
Skills
- Power distribution system design and analysis
- Switchgear, motor control centers, UPS and generator systems
- Load flow analysis and power monitoring tools
- Ability to read power and control schematics and O&M manuals
- Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, IBC and related codes
- Troubleshooting of electrical equipment and controllers
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload
- Strong written and verbal communication
Responsibilities
- Design detailed electrical systems including power distribution, switchgear, motor control centers, and lighting
- Specify and integrate UPS units, standby/emergency generators, and automatic transfer switches
- Design power monitoring hardware/software and building/site grounding systems
- Design and review control systems, ground support controls, ladder logic, and data/phone distribution wiring
- Perform load flow analysis, electrical equipment evaluation, and power coordination studies
- Provide engineering support and troubleshooting for facility electrical equipment and controllers
- Coordinate electrical installations and maintenance with local utilities and trade partners
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IBC, AFSPCMAN, etc.)
- Support control panel design, production, and integration with facility power budgets
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline (required)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred)
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NFPA 70, NEC, IBC, etc.)
