Sr. Software Engineer, Simulation (Starship)
Skills
- Proficiency in C++, Python, or Rust for systems-level development
- Experience building and validating simulation models and HITL testbeds
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
- Familiarity with CI/CD and test automation infrastructure
- Good understanding of computer architecture, networking, and real-time constraints
- Basic knowledge of electronics, controls, fluids or mechanical systems
- Strong written and verbal communication and cross-team collaboration
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and validate high-performance simulation models of vehicle and ground subsystems
- Develop and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) testbeds in collaboration with Avionics and hardware teams
- Build and operate scalable simulation execution infrastructure and CI systems
- Collaborate with analysis, hardware, and systems teams to integrate models and support test campaigns
- Lead projects to improve simulation fidelity, performance, and engineering processes
- Improve software quality through unit testing, performance optimization, and code reviews
- Define and propagate software engineering best practices across the Starship software organization
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science OR equivalent professional experience
- 4+ years software development experience with a degree, or 6+ years without a degree
