Data Collection Freelancer
Company Description
We are seeking freelance contributors to support a multimodal data collection project aimed at enhancing the performance of a digital assistant. The role involves capturing short-form video clips that simulate real-world user interactions and submitting corresponding question/answer sequences.
Contributors will record naturalistic mobile scenarios—such as asking questions while traveling, eating out, shopping, or navigating public transit—and annotate them with relevant, realistic responses and supporting metadata.
Job Description
- Collect and submit up to 50 short video-based interaction samples in mp4 format, following provided technical guidelines.
- Each example will be a separate deliverable, and each submitted interaction must include:
- Dynamic videos which ask a question and provide an answer which is grounded in what is seen in the video.
- Each example should be realistic - might a reasonable person ask this question in a real-life scenario?
- General metadata including a title, short description, and file link via a shared template.
Freelancer will be responsible for:
- Ensuring submitted examples meet defined quality and realism standards.
- Compliance with the parameters outlined in the provided technical documentation.
- Completing deliverables according to deadlines, including revisions when necessary.
- Incorporating early feedback from the project team to refine submissions.
Examples of Suitable Scenarios:
- Interacting with a restaurant’s menu.
- Helping to locate something which is difficult to find, like an expiration date
- Scenarios that require simple analysis like figuring out which of a variety of products is the cheapest per volume
Qualifications
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow structured technical instructions.
- Comfortable recording and speaking in public or dynamic environments.
- Fluent in English with strong written communication skills.
- Based in the U.S. with access to a variety of real-world outdoor or on-the-go settings.
- Competent with smartphone video recording, file organization, and using cloud storage platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with data collection, UX research, content creation, or linguistic annotation.
- Multilingual proficiency or familiarity with multi-language contexts.
Note: This is a remote, freelance contract role with flexible hours. All work must be original, collected safely, and submitted in accordance with provided guidelines and review processes.
