At Learning Without Tears (LWT), we're on a mission to make learning joyful, engaging, and accessible for students and educators everywhere. We're seeking an Adoptions and Contracts Manager to lead our state and district adoption process-shaping strategy, managing submissions, and building strong relationships that ensure our programs reach classrooms nationwide.

What You'll Be Doing:

As the Adoptions Manager, you'll play a critical role in guiding our adoption success strategy:

  • Hire, train, and manage staff and independent consultants, providing guidance and resources to meet team objectives.
  • Oversee all aspects of state adoptions, state caravans, RFP submission, vendor forms, sample shipments, and presentations.
  • Develop and manage adoption logistics, including state adoptions, state caravans, RFP submissions, vendor forms, sample shipments, and presentations.
  • Serve as the key liaison with state textbook coordinators, district leaders, and adoption committees.
  • Manage correlations, rubrics, and RFP narratives; oversee submission processes for states, NYC/FAMIS, and GovSpend contracts.
  • Partner with Creative, Marketing, and Accounting to align efforts, manage contracts and vendor documentation, and ensure seamless execution.
  • Develop budgets, staffing plans, and team standards while staying hands-on with the details that keep projects moving.

Your Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, customer outreach, sales, customer service, or managing contracts/RFPs.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with high attention to detail.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills when working with internal teams, school personnel, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; strong service orientation.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and travel for adoption events as needed (approx. 5 trips/year).
  • Knowledge of public-school systems or the publishing industry (preferred).
