- Proven engineering management experience (formal manager role).
- Hands-on background building modern web applications and guiding technical architecture.
- Experience with observability, metrics, and the ability to interpret and drive outcomes from telemetry.
- Strong collaboration with product and design to deliver high-quality user-facing features.
- Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with cloud-native tooling, CI/CD, and production support/on-call practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage the team’s portfolio, prioritize work, and allocate engineering effort to highest-value initiatives.
- Lead, hire, coach, and perform performance management for a team of full-stack engineers.
- Collaborate with Product and Design to define roadmaps balancing feature delivery, operational health, and technical debt.
- Guide architectural and design decisions, participate in code reviews, and ensure system scalability and reliability.
- Maintain service health and growth planning as part of a you-build-it-you-run-it culture, including on-call responsibilities.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive engineering culture focused on ownership, learning, and measurable outcomes.
- Advocate for the team’s technical needs and align engineering work with company objectives.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Graduate degree (e.g., MS) is a plus but not required.
