Backend Engineer, Release Monitoring
Skills
- 8+ years building backend systems and services
- Experience designing and operating scalable distributed systems
- Proficiency in one or more modern languages (Go, Java, Rust, C++)
- Experience building and consuming APIs for integrations and automation
- Familiarity with observability tools: metrics, tracing, structured logging
- Experience partnering with data scientists and building data-driven products
- Strong system design, domain modeling, and reusable component design skills
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product, design, data science, and engineering to architect and deliver observability features.
- Own end-to-end feature development from proof-of-concept to production delivery.
- Design systems that provide robust post-launch observability into usage, metrics, and errors.
- Proactively identify and implement product and UX improvements driven by data and feedback.
- Mentor teammates and contribute to a high-quality, collaborative engineering culture.
- Lead and participate in code reviews, spec reviews, and architecture discussions.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the org.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
- Graduate degree is a plus but not required
