MICE Business Development Manager (Business & Corporate Travel)

Role Purpose

We are seeking a dynamic B2B Business Development Manager- Group Travel & Corporate Events to join our North America team. This role focuses on:

  • Increasing awareness and demand for our destination as a world-class Business Events location, with emphasis on Corporate Meetings and Incentive travel
  • Growing affinity group leisure travel with focus on alumni, associations, and special interest-based travel clusters (cultural, choral/music, educational)
  • Driving regional and seasonal visitation through targeted sales platform activities to grow market share of USA outbound Business Event and Affinity Group travel business

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Marketing

  • Collaborate with VP B2B Marketing and global business events team to develop and implement US Business Events and Affinity Group travel strategy
  • Execute marketing plans for Business Events (Meetings and Incentives) under our destination brand
  • Create, manage, and evaluate marketing and promotional platforms for industry partners

Account Management & Business Development

  • Manage Business Events and Affinity Group Travel databases
  • Maintain regular communication with key accounts through targeted communications programs
  • Identify new opportunities to grow Affinity Group travel
  • Optimize use of all relevant communication channels to deliver growth objectives

Events & Partnerships

  • Actively represent the organization at key Business Events and Affinity Group platforms (e.g., IMEX America)
  • Organize educational and familiarization trips for key Business Events and Affinity Group travel planner accounts
  • Support and represent the organization at industry events, FAM trips, and corporate events

Operations & Analysis

  • Manage allocated budgets ensuring effective control and reporting in accordance with organizational policies
  • Monitor market trends, intelligence, and competitor activities
  • Collaborate with regional tourism boards and partners
  • Degree in marketing, communications, or business
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in tourism marketing, Business Events, or business development
  • Proven track record in delivering growth from Corporate Meetings, Incentive Travel, and leisure Group Travel accounts in the USA market
  • Strong key account management experience with demonstrated business growth through robust CRM programs
  • Event management experience including B2B sales events, trade show exhibitions, and sales platform development

  • Results-driven with ability to innovate and develop performance-driven plans
  • Strong team player with excellent people skills and relationship-building abilities
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Budget management experience
  • Salary package of $86,000.00
