Senior Software Engineer, Streaming

This role provides the opportunity to shape the backbone of a high-throughput event streaming platform that drives real-time messaging and personalization at scale. You will design, optimize, and modernize streaming systems that process millions of events per second, enabling product and data teams to deliver fast, reliable, and innovative customer experiences. The position blends deep technical expertise with strategic problem-solving, offering exposure to distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and observability tooling. You will collaborate across teams to enhance platform reliability, self-service capabilities, and system scalability, directly impacting the speed, efficiency, and quality of customer-facing solutions.

• Accountabilities
• Architect and evolve high-throughput, low-latency event streaming platforms to support real-time messaging, personalization, and data integration.
• Build and maintain self-service tools for event observability, debugging, load testing, and configuration management.
• Simplify and modernize streaming architecture, removing unnecessary layers and enabling flexible access for multiple use cases.
• Address complex distributed systems challenges, improving event delivery reliability, system efficiency, and scalability.
• Advocate best practices and guide technology selection for streaming infrastructure.
• Collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams to launch scalable, customer-facing features and integrations.
• Requirements
• 5+ years of experience architecting and supporting high-throughput distributed systems, particularly with event streaming or messaging platforms.
• Deep understanding of streaming frameworks such as Kafka, Flink, Pulsar, and/or Spark.
• Proficient in Java (Spring Boot) with strong knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience debugging across the stack, from message serialization and event schemas to network and JVM tuning.
• Familiarity with observability and developer tooling for streaming (tracing, metrics, replay), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm), and Kubernetes (EKS) in cloud-native environments.
• Proven track record of modernizing platforms, moving from legacy systems to managed services, or implementing self-service capabilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills, pragmatic approach to technology adoption, and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
