Senior Director, Marketing

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Heartland. We are currently looking for a Senior Director, Marketing in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

This role offers a strategic leadership opportunity to oversee and evolve a global marketing shared services function in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You will manage program and project managers to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of marketing initiatives, while continuously improving operational efficiency and effectiveness. The position combines operational oversight with strategic transformation, including refining processes, optimizing resources, and implementing scalable delivery models. You will partner with leadership across the organization, driving alignment, capacity planning, and performance measurement. This role requires a balance of executive-level decision-making, team development, and hands-on operational expertise to shape the future of marketing operations globally.

Accountabilities

  • Lead a global team of program and project managers overseeing marketing shared services delivery.
  • Ensure alignment between program managers and revenue marketing teams to manage priorities, dependencies, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Oversee project setup, timelines, progress tracking, and documentation to meet service-level expectations.
  • Establish governance frameworks, operational standards, and KPIs to drive consistent performance.
  • Lead transformation initiatives to modernize intake processes, resource allocation, and delivery models for improved speed, clarity, and impact.
  • Design and manage a hybrid right-shoring model, partnering with external teams to flex capacity while maintaining quality and brand consistency.
  • Govern the marketing project portfolio, including prioritization, risk management, and performance monitoring.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for leadership, providing executive-level reporting on operational metrics and strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee budgets, track spend, and identify opportunities for cost optimization across shared services operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in marketing operations, program/project management, or shared services within a fast-paced, global marketing environment.
  • Proven ability to manage BAU operations while driving transformation initiatives.
  • Experience implementing hybrid right-shoring or distributed delivery models.
  • Strong portfolio governance, resource planning, and capacity management expertise.
  • Executive-level leadership, influencing, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly across all organizational levels.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage distributed global teams and external partner relationships.
  • Proficiency in program management tools, reporting, and operational frameworks.
