Project Accountant (Remote - US)

As Project Accountant, you’ll work closely with project managers, operations, and finance teams to oversee the financial lifecycle of projects—from setup to closeout. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring billing accuracy, managing compliance, and supporting financial planning through reporting and analysis. Accountabilities:

• Support project initiation and lifecycle activities in the ERP system, including billing, resource planning, and project closeout.
• Manage invoicing processes, ensuring timely and accurate billing in line with contract terms and internal standards.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in invoicing and project data; ensure alignment with projected revenue.
• Collaborate with project managers to monitor receivables, collections, and contract compliance; lead weekly review meetings.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting for leadership, focusing on project expenses, AR, and cash flow.
• Handle contract documentation and coordination for subcontractors, including required compliance materials (NDAs, COIs, W-9s, ACH details).
• Audit project data for accuracy and assist in improving accounting systems and processes.
• Ensure tasks and deliverables are completed on time and within budget.

• Associate degree in Accounting required, with 4+ years of experience in project accounting or business administration.
• Prior administrative or accounting support for project managers or executives.
• Proficiency in ERP and billing systems (Vantagepoint a plus); familiarity with M365 tools (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.).
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment; excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of project accounting, billing cycles, and contract administration.
• Attention to detail, deadline-driven mindset, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• Occasional travel up to 5% within the U.S. may be required.
