Program Manager of Transitional Living Program

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Program Manager of Transitional Living Program in San Francisco, CA.

We are seeking a dedicated Program Manager to lead a Transitional Living Program for young adults exiting homelessness. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day operations, supervise program staff, and ensure high-quality service delivery in a residential setting. You will manage budgets, coordinate intakes and assessments, and foster collaborative relationships with community and resource agencies. This role involves strategic program development, staff mentoring, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment for transition-aged youth. The ideal candidate is a compassionate leader with experience in case management, residential or transitional housing programs, and team supervision. You will have a tangible impact on the lives of young people while contributing to an organization committed to ending youth homelessness. Accountabilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of residential and transitional program services for young adults.
  • Ensure provision of essential services, special projects, and a safe, supportive environment.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide regular performance guidance for residential counselors and case managers.
  • Coordinate intakes, assessments, and maintain accurate client records and data collection procedures.
  • Manage program budget and ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate staff meetings and foster a positive, collaborative team culture.
  • Represent the program and organization in community meetings and activities, as needed.
  • Serve as an on-call manager on a rotational schedule and support program needs during holidays when required.

  • Proven experience in case management and direct service for transitional-aged youth (18–25), particularly in shelters, drop-in centers, transitional, or permanent supportive housing programs.
  • Prior leadership experience, including hiring, training, and supervising program staff.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for youth of diverse backgrounds.
  • Self-starter and team player with a demonstrated commitment to the mission of supporting young adults experiencing homelessness.
  • Willingness to work primarily in-person, with limited remote work flexibility, and serve as an after-hours on-call supervisor.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is required.
  • Annual salary: $80,000–$85,000.
  • Clipper Bay Pass for free commute.
