Digital Communications Coordinator (Remote - North America)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC). We are currently looking for a Digital Communications Coordinator in North America.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to support digital communications across multiple platforms in a mission-driven environment. You will be responsible for creating, editing, and publishing compelling content that engages diverse audiences, while managing visual media and coordinating cross-channel campaigns. Working remotely and part-time, you will collaborate closely with teams to maintain content calendars, enhance digital storytelling, and optimize communication strategies. This position combines creativity, organization, and technical proficiency, making it ideal for a communications professional eager to contribute to meaningful initiatives in higher education and beyond.

Accountabilities

  • Develop, draft, and edit content for digital channels including news stories, newsletters, emails, and social media, ensuring alignment with brand voice and communication goals.
  • Design and produce digital assets using tools like Canva, and perform basic photo and video editing to enhance visual storytelling.
  • Manage digital publishing workflows, including scheduling content via social media management platforms (e.g., Sprout Social) and supporting web updates through content management systems such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
  • Maintain content calendars, track campaign performance, and support community engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of campaigns and consistent messaging across channels.
  • Assist with monitoring and reporting on content effectiveness to inform future strategy.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience creating content for news, email, and social media platforms.
  • Proficiency in Canva or equivalent design tools.
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social).
  • Basic experience with content management systems such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
  • Ability to perform basic photo and video editing to enhance digital storytelling.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in communications, marketing, or digital media roles.
  • Interest in higher education and mission-driven communications.
  • Experience managing cross-channel campaigns or content calendars.
  • Part-time, remote work with flexible hours.
  • Paid time off eligibility for sick and safe leave (1 hour per 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours per year).

  • Competitive hourly rate: $50.00–$55.00.
